The Karras family has continued to serve the Cape Cod community for over 100 years. Kostas and Anna Karras moved to the Cape in the early 1900s. They lived in and ran a fruit stand in Barnstable Village in what is now the Dolphin Restaurant. They raised 10 children, 8 boys, all United States veterans. Mike's father, Ted Karras, is a strong advocate for growth and education on the Cape. Mike's Aunt Mary Karras-Montagna was the first woman selectman in the town of Barnstable in 1975. Mike's Uncle John owned Bray Farm and Carpets of Cape Cod. Mike's Uncle George Karras was the manager of Coca-Cola Bottling Company and helped found the Cape Cod Baseball League and is in the CCBL Hall of Fame. Mike's sister Tammy Saben was recently nominated as Person of the Year by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and was elected chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Cape Cod Community College. Our family is deeply embedded in the community.
